Democrats Probe Trump-Linked Crypto Projects, Seek Treasury Records
Democratic lawmakers have intensified scrutiny of former President Donald Trump’s cryptocurrency ventures, demanding Treasury Department records on financial activities tied to his digital asset projects. Representatives Gerald Connolly, Joseph Morelle, and Jamie Raskin formally requested all suspicious activity reports (SARs) filed since 2023 regarding World Liberty Financial and the OFFICIAL TRUMP token (TRUMP).
The investigation focuses on potential financial irregularities as Trump expands his crypto footprint. SARs, filed with FinCEN when institutions detect possible money laundering or other illicit activities, could reveal critical compliance data about these Trump-affiliated entities. This congressional action signals growing regulatory attention on political figures’ involvement in digital asset markets.
